FEEL THE MUSIC: The Middlesex Concert Band presents its ninth annual children's concert in Wakefield on Oct. 5.

"The Power of Music" explores how music makes people feel.

The band performs a medley from the movie "Frozen," introduces children to Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf," and presents other pieces such as "The Children's March," "Sandpaper Ballet," and "Russian Sailor's Dance."

One child wins a chance to conduct the band performing "The Stars and Stripes Forever." Each child who attends receives a free coloring book, and after the performance, children have the opportunity to try out the band's instruments.

The Middlesex Concert Band plays traditional and contemporary wind ensemble music, marches, big band songs, folk tunes, and music from Broadway and Hollywood.
