The city police have recorded the written statement of Karthik Gowda, son of Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, on Saturday in connection with the case where he is accused of cheating and rape by a Kannada actor.

Karthik Gowda had appeared before the police on Friday and was grilled for nearly two hours after which he was also subjected to medical examination at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital. He again appeared before the police on Saturday and was questioned for nearly four hours by a special team led by the investigating officer in the case, said Assistant Commissioner of Police Omkaraiah. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) T.R. Suresh said that the police would seek permission of the court to collect his voice samples to forensically match them with the voice on the call recordings submitted by the complainant.
