Sriya to act with villagers in Andava Kaanom

VJ-turned-actress Sriya Reddy, who is back from the US, is now busy shooting for her comeback film Andava Kaanom in Theni. ���When I was initially approached for this role, I was a little hesitant as to whether I should do it. But then, both Vishal and Vikram also heard the script and they, along with several others who know about this project, urged me to take it up because they knew this script was a winner.They pointed out that these are the scripts that are selling today,��� she says and points out that she is delighted with the project as the role offers her ample scope to perform.
The title of the film is really funny and the story is set in Theni. ���It is about what happens in a day and I play the title character ��� a very powerful rural woman. It has different depths,��� says Sriya, who tells us that director Vadivel, a former assistant of director Suseenthiran, is as gifted as his mentor.
Apart from Sriya, the film will also feature a couple, played by two newcomers. Interestingly, the roles of all the other characters in the film are played by villagers from Theni. Says Sriya, ���Director Vadivel has made sure that the villagers have been practising their roles for the last 90 days. They are the only other characters in the film.���
Ask her what the film���s plot will be and she says, ���When I asked the director how he came up with such a simple story like Andava Kaanom, he said, ���In villages, people don���t have big situations to deal with every day. Even small things irritate them and they only need the smallest of reasons to fight. It can be as simple as somebody taking the clothes of another. So, the story is about somebody taking a girl���s anda (vessel) and a fight erupts.������
