Mayawati expels state BSP chief

On August 22, a scuffle took place between Jandali and Kashyap and supporters of both levelled allegations against each other.

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has expelled state unit president Parkash Singh Jandali from the party for ‘indiscipline’ and appointed Rajya Sabha member and former state president Avtar Singh Karimpuri as Punjab president again.

The decision was taken at a meeting in Lucknow on Friday evening. The meeting was still on till the filing of this report.

BSP national secretary Narinder Kashyap, who was incharge of Punjab affairs for the last several years, has now been made incharge of party affairs in Himachal Pradesh and J&K while Haryana leader Parkash Bharti has been made incharge of party affairs in Punjab.

It was learnt that both Karimpuri and Jandali were called to Lucknow today. Jandali was expelled reportedly because he had spoken publicly against Karimpuri and tried to organise meetings in Punjab despite warnings from Mayawati, said party sources.

On August 22, a scuffle took place between Jandali and Kashyap and supporters of both levelled allegations against each other. Jandali had asked Kashyap to give details of accounts.

Speaking to The Indian Express from Lucknow, Karimpuri confirmed the developments.

In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the BSP performed poorly with just 1.9 per cent vote share against 5.75 per cent share in 2009 Lok Sabha elections.

TSBIE TS Inter Results 2024: Websites to check Telangana IPE 1st, 2nd year result

The TSBIE will announce the TS Inter results on April 24, and students can check their scorecards on the official websites. The exams were held from February 28 to March 19, and a total of 9,80,978 students appeared. The pass percentage for last year's exams was 63.27%. Students can also apply for re-evaluation or supplementary exams if they are unsatisfied with their results.
