Molested Sikkimese girl leaves Visva Bharati

The student decided to quit the university permanently after a prolonged mental trauma as a result of which she had to be admitted to the Burdwan medical college for over past one week.

The first-year Kala Bhavan student, who was allegedly molested and sexually harassed by three fellow students of the Visva Bharati, quit the university on Friday.

The student decided to quit the university permanently after a prolonged mental trauma as a result of which she had to be admitted to the Burdwan medical college for over past one week.

"She has left today. We are extremely sorry with the development. This much I can say," Kala Bhavan Principal Sisir Sahana told Mail Today.

He said the girl, who hailed from north Sikkim, had left after completing all exit formalities. She reportedly received her transfer certificate from the university authorities, sources said.

Earlier, the victim's father had lodged a complaint with the Birbhum police. Later, three students were arrested on August 30 after the Visva Bharati authorities had lodged a formal complained with the police.
