Mansa rape victim not Nirbhaya's nurse
The Mansa police team, which had gone to Delhi to handover the victim to her family, found that she was not working as nurse at Safdarjung hospital, the finding that is contrary to her statement to the police on Tuesday.
In a new twist to the sensational Mansa rape case, the police on Friday found that the victim was neither a nurse nor employed at New Delhi-based Safdarjung hospital where the December 2012 rape victim Nirbhaya was treated before she was shifted to Singapore.
The Mansa police team, which had gone to Delhi to handover the victim to her family, found that she was not working as nurse at Safdarjung hospital, the finding that is contrary to her statement to the police on Tuesday.
"The investigations revealed that the victim had lied about her age, occupation and name. She is not an employee of Safdarjung Hospital and works as a domestic help. Her actual age is 23 and not 33 as stated by her in the statement. She was married four years back and has a child who lives with her parents. She was living separate from her husband and her parents also did not accept her," DSP, Bulada, Gurmeet Kaur, who headed the police team, told MAIL TODAY.
The police also found that the rape victim lied to gain sympathy. She had also lied about her real name.
"She refused to undergo a medical test but narrated the incident before the chief judicial magistrate (CJM). We have handed over her to her parents at Kotla Mubarakpur police station. Further investigations are on.
The court had refused to send the rape victim to Nari Niketan and ordered the police to handover the victim to her parents. Seeta (not real name) was gang-raped by two men in Budlada under Mansa district on the the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday. She had alleged on Tuesday that she was raped by Balwinder Singh Kala and Manvinder Singh in the fields of Gurne village near Budladha town of Mansa.
The victim alleged that she had come to Mansa to meet her old friend who is a nurse. In fact, the police found that the victim had lied that the accused had snatched her costly cellphone and gave her a cheap handset after the incident.
Budlada police has arrested two rape accused Balwinder kala and Lakhwinder Singh.They have confessed having raped the victim.They are currently on police remand.
