Boden and Flowers once they were healthy again.

After one man was given only 24 hours to live, all he hoped for was a new liver. He ended up getting that and so much more.

Wayne Boden, 48, was admitted to King's College Hospital in London in 2009 to receive a liver transplant after he was diagnosed with Primary Schlerosing Cholangitis, a disease that causes liver damage due to inflammation of bile ducts. Boden was released after surgery, but was readmitted in 2012–and this time, he was expected to survive just one more day. Boden surprised doctors and pulled through, staying alive long enough for a donor to be found.

At the same time, Shelley Flowers, 34, was admitted for a liver transplant after she was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis. Before she was released, she became friendly with Boden, who was also in the liver ward.

In August 2012, Boden had his second transplant and recuperated with Flowers by his side. Now, the two are both fully recovered and engaged, planning a July 2015 wedding. Boden says, "We're very lucky to have found happiness during otherwise dark times."
