Tooth-fairy math links Sarah Palin, Raul Grijalva

Congressman Raul Grijalva on primary election night in Tucson

Who knew Sarah Palin and Raul Grijalva would find themselves pallin' around on stage during the first debate between governor hopefuls Fred DuVal and Doug Ducey?

Figuratively speaking, of course.

When confronted with the fact that his supporters include far, far right darlings like Palin and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Ducey shot back that DuVal's supporters include Grijalva, who called for a boycott of the state after SB 1070.

It was supposed to be a zinger.

But, hey. Grijalva has said the boycott call was a mistake. As one of two Latino members of Arizona's congressional delegation, that anti-immigrant law hit close to home. Voters in his district forgave him. Twice.

But seriously folks, isn't the primary over?

Ducey was supposed to shift to the center after playing the immigration card to beat his GOP opponents. Just who is he pitching for with the suggestion that support from Grijalva should be suspect?

Any equivalency between Sarah and Raul sure sounds like "tooth-fairy math" to me.

After all, Grijalva completed the terms of office he was elected to serve. Unlike Palin.

And, oh yeah, he's actually from Arizona.
