Hiresindogi in Koppal district receives highest rainfall of 83mm in Karnataka

MANGALORE: Hiresindogi in Koppal taluk of Koppal district recorded maximum rainfall of 83mm in Karnataka in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on September 12. Yediyur hobli in Kunigal taluk of Tumkur district recorded maximum temperature of 36.8°C on September 11 at 2pm. Bankal hobli in Mudigere taluk of Chikmagalur district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 16°C on September 12 from 6am to 6.30am.
Maximum temperature rose at many places over Malnad region and changed little over remaining parts of the state. Minimum temperature rose at few places over Malnad region and changed little over remaining parts of the state. More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 47% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 0% geographical area in the state.
Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 13% of hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall of =2.5mm. Heavy rain was recorded in one gram panchayat, rather heavy rain in nine gram panchayats, moderate rain in 100 GPs, light rain in 126 GPs, very light rain in 254 GPs each; and no rain in remaining 1,452 GPs.
Karnataka for the period from September 6 to September 12 recorded deficit rainfall of 7%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 28.6mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 26.6mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on September 12, four geographical regions received 1.7mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 4.7mm, a 65% deficit departure from normal.
