Two killed in Prakasam road mishaps

Two persons, including a lady teacher were killed and two others injured in two separate accidents in Prakasam district on Friday.

The teacher, M. Neeraja (36), who was pillion riding was killed and her husband M. Leelakrishna (42) injured when their motorcycle was hit by a tractor at Maddiralapadu near Nagulapupadu, police said. The teacher working in Zilla Parishad High school at Upugunduru was on her way her school when the mishap occurred.

In another accident, a 40-year-old lorry driver Babji was killed on the spot when the Kadapa-bound compost-laden lorry from Vijayawada fell from an overbridge near Thokapalli within Pedaravedu police station limits. The cleaner, P. Raju (24) who was injured, was rushed to the Government Area Hospital at Markapur, police added.
