Vajrakaya is not a sequel

Director Harsha on his new film with Shivanna and the Anjaneya connection
Vajrakaya is not a sequel
Bhajarangi, which released late last year, became the first Kannada film to complete 100 days in 2014. So when Shivarajkumar and director Harsha got together for another film, it immediately created a buzz.
When the film was named Vajrakaya, another name for Lord Hanuman (Bhajarangi too is a name for Hanuman), speculations were rife that the film would be a sequel of their earlier venture.
The film has completed the first schedule of 36 days, but not a single official photograph of the film has been released. A couple of photographs taken by fans began circulating on social media and everyone seemed to be convinced that the new film was a sequel as Shivarajkumar was seen riding a horse. Bhajarangi had a period flashback with the protagonist shown as a tribal leader.
However, providing the first official photographs of the film to Mirror, director Harsha put to rest the speculations about the film. “Vajrakaya is not a sequel to Bhajarangi.I can't deny the fact that those who have watched Bhajarangi will want to see something related to it. So for about four minutes from the start of the film, Vajrakaya will have a hangover of the earlier film. The introduction song will be about Anjaneya (Hanuman) and that would be all that the two films will have in common. It is just for the fans who would be in Bhajarangi hangover,“ Harsha said.
About continuing with titles related to Lord Hanuman, he said, “Within 30 minutes of the film, the justification for the title will be revealed. Literally, it means a person with a body made of diamond. But it is not about anyone being able to take blows and fight.
The character is able to absorb every kind of problem and find a solution for it.” About Shivarajkumar shown riding a horse which led to the speculation of it being a sequel to Bhajarangi in which half the film was a period piece, Harsha said, “There is no period flashback in the film. This is a contemporary film. There is a flashback of about 7.5 minutes which is again not in the distant past. Shivanna riding a horse is just one part of the film.“ The actor will be seen riding a horse as well as riding a Harley Davidson and an Audi.

He will be seen in suits as well as kachchepanche (traditional dhoti). He will do modern fights as well as traditional wrestling.” The film marks the return of producer CR Manohar and CR Gopi after the former's political stint. The film has three leading ladies.
While Karunya Ram and Nabha Natesh have already taken part in the first schedule of shooting, the search for the third girl is on.
The film is most likely to be released in January 2015.
