Music review: Paatshala
The album starts off with a Friendship Anthem, a peppy track crooned by Sooraj Santhosh. The number has good chord progression and string section with attractive lyrics penned by Sree Mani. Merise Merise has a good fusion of Telugu and English lyrics. The Hip-Hop styled vocals give the breezy melody a contemporary touch. The beats are contemporary, and the music composition is peppy too.
Suryodayam is an interesting track with a sufi touch.
Indian music instruments like tabla and flute give it an additional desi flavour. This soulful number is undoubtedly the best song of the album. Freedom will be loved by party goers for its rock theme. The use of electronic guitars gives you the feel of a modern rock track.
Shoonyama comes out like a philosophical track with lovely guitar and mellowed rhythm section. And it boasts of meaningful lyrics, which mirrors various moods in life. On the whole, this youthful album has plenty of fresh and peppy tunes.
