BJP seeks explanation from candidate on pending cases
CHANDIGARH: The BJP has sought an explanation from its candidate for the Dadri assembly segment, Sombir Sangwan, over allegations related to 10 court cases pertaining to a cheque bounce case and another criminal matter came to light.
Sangwan is among 43 persons whose candidatures for Haryana assembly elections were announced on September 9. According to sources, his opponents highlighted that 10 complaints related to cheque bounce cases were filed against him in different courts of Dadri.

Police had lodged an FIR against Sangwan for criminal intimidation in 2012 after around a dozen residents of a colony in Rewari alleged that he was trying to take control of their plots forcibly. "Sangwan also caused revenue loss to the government as he evaded stamp duty by getting registered a piece of colony land, terming it as agriculture property," colony residents had alleged.
However, terming the allegations baseless, Sangwan told TOI on Thursday that no court cases were pending against him . "The court cases pertain to a matter between business partners. But now, no court cases are pending against me as I have already made payment to my partners. The party has asked me to submit all documents and I will do the same. It is a drama created by those persons who failed to get a party ticket," he said.
Leader of BJP legislative group in the state assembly, Anil Vij, said party would look into the matter.
