Yuvraj Walmiki and Sashi Topno struck a brace each to steer Central Railway to a 5-3 win against a spirited Rhema Sports in a Super Division clash of the MHAL League at the MHAL Stadium, Churchgate, on Thursday.
Central Railway full back Narad Bahadur struck the opening goal in the first minute, before Yuvraj and Topno combined well to add the other four goals. For Rhema, defender Gurpreet scored twice from penalty corners and Rattan M. netted a goal in the final minute to reduce the deficit.
In another match, Central Secretariat enjoyed a good outing as they romped to a 5-2 win against a young, but inexperienced Union Bank of India after leading 3-1 at the break.
After Joshua Vessaonkar, Javed Khan and Jayesh Jadhav scored the opening three goals for Secretariat, Nevneet Swarnakar added his name on the scoresheet by hitting the target twice. Union Bank of India managed their two goals through an early strike from Kiran Kumar in the fourth minute and Moses Pullanthara later in the second half.
