Jorie Brown (Head Coach, CheerleadingTeam, Toronto Argonauts Football Club) who choreographed Dal makhani for Dr Cabbie says that shooting the peppy track with actors Vinay, Kunal Nayyar and Adrianne Palicki was a breeze. The song is a part of Virmani’s character, Deepak’s birthday celebrations and had 50 dancers in the backdrop along with the entire cast of the film as well.
“The shoot was actually a breeze! Everyone was in a party mood and we shot the song in a day. Vinay plays a young simple doctor in the film, so we couldn’t transform him into a rockstar. He had to dance as if his character would in real life. As a result there’s that bit of shyness, especially when he is with his leading lady Adrianne. On the other hand Kunal Nayyar who plays Tony goes all out and brings his Punjabi bravado! The song was filmed in Toronto in a day!” said Brown.
The song he said, was shot closer to the end of the schedule so it was a wrap up party of sorts! “And yes there was lots of dal makhani served on set that day,” informed Brown. The film is presented by Salman Khan and distributed by Eros International and is directed Jean-Francois Pouliot.
