BJP alleges SP of damaging helipad meant for Hema
ALLAHABAD: BJP MP Hema Malini said law and order is at its nadir under Akhilesh government in UP. “Goons of SP dug up the helipad so that I could not land and address the meeting,” she said.
Addressing a large crowd at a public meeting at Karikot ground on Thursday, Hema Malini urged people to vote for BJP candidate Akshayvar Lal Gaur. She criticized Akhilesh's government on every ground, including lae and order, and asked the people to vote for the BJP.
She claimed that the helipad where she was scheduled top land for the rally, was dug by SP workers.
Around 20,000 people were present at the ground despite heavy showers. The veteran actress reached two hours late.
BJP had lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, alleging that the helipad had been damaged by SP workers on Wednesday night to disrupt Hema Malini’s meeting.
"The helipad was damaged by SP workers on the directions of a minister. A complaint in this regard has been sent to EC," alleged local BJP MLA Mukut Bihari Verma.
The party had paid Rs 1.85 lakh to a contractor for the helipad, he said, alleging that it was damaged so that the meeting could not be held there. “We managed to repair the damaged part of the helipad,” Verma added.
Both BJP and ruling SP are doing everything to woo voters.
From fielding star campaigners, to attacking rivals vociferously, these two parties are leaving no stones unturned to ensure victory.
BJP’s Akshaywar Lal and SP’s Vanshidhar Baudh are trying their luck in Balha (reserved) Assembly seat in Bahraich.
