Whatever you're doing right now, stop and take a moment to appreciate this magnificent crazy man. His name is Benjamin "Bearzly" Gwin, and he has done something that is truly, madly, deeply wonderful: he has played through, and beaten, action RPG Dark Souls -- widely regarded as one of the toughest console games of recent years, if not ever -- using a Rock Band guitar.

Why, you might ask? Well, because he could. "Beating Dark Souls using a guitar controller has been a common joke around the challenge run community, so I figured why not give it a shot?" he said.

Using Xbox 360 controller emulator x360ce, he plugged the Xbox 360 guitar into his PC and mapped onto it Xbox 360 regular controller buttons. Due to the limitations of the guitar, this placed a few restrictions on what he could do: he could only move forwards, backwards and to the right, and could only rotate the camera left.

Nevertheless, he managed to complete the game in just 11.25 hours. The hardest bosses to beat in this way, he said, were Gravity, and double-foe battle Ornstein and Smough, while the hardest area overall was Sen's Fortress.

If that wasn't enough punishment, Bearzly has plans to do it all over again. "I will be attempting Dark Souls 2 all bosses with guitar controller after the final DLC comes out!"

While we wait for that wonderful day, you can watch the Ornstein-Smough battle below (you can see Bearzly in the top right corner), and check out more highlights in his Twitch channel.
