Restoration work, rehabilitation measures reviewed in Samba

SAMBA, Sept 10: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samba, Mubarak Singh today reviewed the pace of progress on restoration of damaged public utilities and services besides rehabilitation of people affected due to the recent floods.
Chairing an all departments’ meeting, he directed the concerned departments to accelerate the efforts for the restoration of essential services besides prioritizing repairs of infrastructure of power, PHE, roads and other Government buildings.
ADDC Samba, Vivek Sharma, ADC Samba Inderjeet, AC(R) M Y Malik, CPO  Samba,  SDM Vijaypur, SDM Ghagwal  besides District  Sectoral Officers present in the meeting.
The DDC stressed on close coordination among different  departments to ensure that the relief material is provided to the affected families at the earliest.
He further directed the Executive Engineer PDD to restore power supply to the affected areas on priority basis and wherever required, alternate arrangements must be put in place. He also directed CA&PD authorities to provide free ration supply to the affected families for two months whose houses have been collapsed and fully damaged.
He also directed the revenue officers to visit the spots to have fair assessment of the damage to households, crops, loss of livestock so that the relief could be provided to affected families.
The DDC directed the Health Department to make adequate medical staff and medicines available at all Health centres  to keep check on spread of water borne diseases.
It was revealed that a public grievance cell with dedicated telephone lines 01923-219093 has been established in the District Office Complex to register the complaints of the people and ensure early redressal of the same.
