TVS boss’ son elevated as joint MD; daughter inducted into board

Chennai: Young Sudarshan Venu, son of TVS Motor Company chairman and MD Venu Srinivasan, has been promoted as joint managing director of the company while his sister, Lakshmi Venu, got promoted to the post of additional non-executive director.Tafe chairperson and Mr Venu Srinivasan’s wife, Mallika Srinivasan, has also been elevated as joint managing director of TVS Motor Company with immediate effect.
“The company is steadily increasing its market share and the volume of its business. Global business has also been increasing. Mr Sudarsh-an Venu as whole-time director has been actively participating in the activities of the company and has considerably increa-sed his engagement in and contribution to the progress of the company,” TVS Motor Company said in a statement.
Mr Sudarshan will be functioning under the advice and guidance of Mr Venu Srinivasan and Ms Lakshmi Venu will serve as the woman director on the board in compliance with the provisions of Companies Act and the Listing Agree-ment, the announcement said. Sudarshan Venu has been the vice-president at TVS Motor Company since December 2011 and its whole-time director since February 2013. Ms Lakshmi Venu also serves as vice-president (global business) at the Sundaram Clayton, the group company of TVS Motors. Sudarshan Venu recently married Tara, grand daughter of the late D. Jayavarthanavelu of Coimbatore-based Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd.
