For all those who disregard the hazards of sound pollution, here is one bizarre incident from Satara in Maharashtra. The vibrations of huge blaring speakers of Ganesh idol processions led to collapse of a dilapidated structure resulting in the death of three persons and injuring one.

The incident happened at Rajpath Road Satara on Sunday, when Ganesh idols were being taken in processions for immersion at Satara. The road witnessed most of the Ganesh idol processions heading for immersions. An wall of a building adjacent to the LIC office on Rajpath collapsed trapping four people who were standing near it.

According to police inspector Santosh Pandre, in-charge of Shahupuri police station, a street vendor selling vada pav, and two others died, while two women including the daughter-in-law of the vendor, were injured and rushed to hospital.
