Macclesfield Town 1-1 FC Halifax Town

Former Macclesfield Town striker Scott Boden scored against his old club to help FC Halifax Town earn a point at Moss Rose and go top of the Conference.

The best chance of a goalless first half fell to Macclesfield's Paul Lewis, who headed wide just before the break.

Boden then gave the Shaymen the lead, forcing a rebound over the line after Jamie Jackson's shot had been spilled.

Just five minutes later, Arthur Gnahoua turned in the area and drove a low shot into the bottom corner to earn a point.

With Barnet not playing until Wednesday, the result gives Halifax a one-point at the top of the league.

Boden's goal was his fourth of the season so far for the Shaymen.

Adam Smith almost restored Halifax's lead late on but his long-range effort was well saved, having looked destined for the top corner.

Halifax defender Marc Roberts had the ball in the net in stoppage time, but was denied a late winner as the officials had spotted a foul on the goalkeeper.
