Follow the stars

The latest fashion trends in Bollywood have also found their way into the wardrobes of students
Hyderabad: College students have found their fashionistas in the stars. From Deepika’s quirky look in Finding Fanny to Katrina’s in Bang Bang and Arjun Kapoor in 2 States, fashion trends in movies have become more wearable. Taking a cue from them, college students believe, if the trend fits, well then, wear it.
Rohit Surana, a student from Hamstech Institute of Fashion and Interior Design, believes it all comes down to three things. Availability, how easy it is to accessorise and how he can carry off the look. “I do like to pick up trends from actors, but we have to look at the logical aspect of clothing as well. The clothes should be easily available and affordable,” Rohit says.
Sanjana Bang, a third-year student from Villa Marie College for Women says, “I love Sonam Kapoor. I have seen the promos of Khubsoorat and she hasn’t failed to impress. From her waist coats to printed shirts with a black blazer, her look makes for a great one to wear.”
But, not every look is wearable and even if it is, there is always the fear of not carrying it off well. Roja a first-year student from Hamstech says, “One can’t blindly follow these trends. People should also focus on their body language.
“If you’re unable to carry off a look because you don’t have the right body language then, it’s a huge failure. It’s not just the clothes; everything else contributes to the look as well.”
