Maicon's Brazil days are over: agent
Maicon's days as a Brazil player are over, according to his agent Antonio Caliendo.
The ex-Manchester City right-back was called up by Selecao coach Dunga and started in their 1-0 friendly win over Colombia in Miami over the weekend.
But he was mysteriously removed from the squad ahead of Brazil's friendly against Ecuador in New York on Wednesday morning (Singapore time) for a serious breach of discipline.
Amid several sordid rumours swirling around on the Internet, Caliendo believes his client, who now plays for Serie A side AS Roma, has pulled on the famous canary yellow shirt for the last time and will focus on his club career.
Speaking to Tele Radio Stereo, the agent said: "I cannot comment on the incident, but I can say that Dunga and (technical director Gilmar) Rinaldi are good friends and that if the coach has taken a decision as severe as this, he will not return (to the squad).
"Maicon will play a few seasons more yet, just like Cafu."
