Karolina Kurkova donned a daring — and dashing — powder-blue jacket with matching cropped suit pants at the Tod’s Madison Avenue boutique reopening Monday night. Her trick for pulling off the risky ensemble? Attitude.
“You’ve got to own it. It’s got to be something where you’re like, ‘OK, I feel good in this,’ ” explained the fashion plate. “It’s definitely not your sexy look. It’s your more funky, something-different look.”
But there is one trend the supermodel deemed too much of a fashion risk, even for a professional like herself. “Sandals with socks,” she said. “I don’t see myself wearing that.”
Something else she doesn’t see herself doing? Going to the football stadium anytime soon. “I love sports. I grew up in sports,” said Kurkova, a regular US Open attendee who grew up with a professional basketball player father. “American football is something my husband loves. I still need to learn about the rules and everything. But am I going to be going to a game? Not sure!”
