Indian equities are trading higher on Wednesday. Realty, capital goods and power stocks witnessed a fall whereas FMCG stocks registered a gain.
At 10.27 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 75.65 points or 0.29% at 25,956.42 with 16 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 23.50 points or 0.30% at 7,750.55 with 28 components gaining.
Top gainers were Hindustan Unilever (2.35%), ITC (1.56%), Sun Pharma (1.32%) and Wipro (1.01%).
Major losers were BHEL (4.94%), Hindalco (1.35%), Tata Power (0.99%) and L&T (0.93%).
The BSE Mid and small caps underperformed their larger counterparts declining 0.32% and 0.24% respectively.
The Realty index was at 1,848.06, down by 27.68 points or by 1.48%. The Capital Goods index was at 14,274.70, down by 189.84 points or by 1.31%. The Power index was at 2,057.30, down by 19.45 points or by 0.94%.
On the other hand, the FMCG index was at 7,181.17, up by 90.01 points or by 1.27%.
