PALANPUR: At least 27 people including women and children were injured when a tractor trolley overturned in the Ambaghata Hills, some 15km from Danta in Banaskantha on Monday.
The condition of 10 is said to be critical and they have been shifted to Palanpur Civil Hospital.
The passengers were returning after offering prayers at Ambaji. Sources said the accident took place when the driver lost control over his vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn while descending a hilly path towards Satlasana village.
Sub-inspector at Danta police station K Y Vyas said that around 30 people from Rantej village of Becharaji taluka in Mehsana district traveling in the tractor after a pilgrimage to Ambaji. The police were informed about the accident by some of the people marching to Ambaji on foot.
Police carried out rescue operations with the help of the locals and took the injured to Danta Referral Hospital.
