KV observes Vyeth-Truvah

JAMMU, Sept 8: Kashmira Vahini, (KV) a womens organization of exiled  Kashmiri Hindu organised  ‘Vitasta Diwas’ today on the occasion of Vyeth- Truvah, the birth day of river Goddess Vitasta and offered special prayers for reprieve from torrential rains ,safety and well being of every flood affected person both in Kashmir and Jammu.
In a simple and impressive function, organized at its headquarters this year instead of Rajender Park on the banks of Chandra Bhaga canal in the form of Devotional Sangeet Sandhya for seeking blessings of River Goddess Vitasta, who seems angry these days, for the victims of horrifying fury of incessant rains that caused inundation, floods, massive landslides and collapse of residential structures in Mahore, Pancheri where  dozens of villagers have perished.
Dr Khema Kaul, Sudesha Kaul, Gayatri Hashia, Nirmala Tiku, Vijaya Khoda ,Lovely Kaul, Vijaya Saproo appreciated the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for immediately rushing to Jammu and submerged Srinagar city in Kashmir for reviewing the flood situation and on the spot assessment of worst affected regions of the State and declaring it as National Disaster.
Kashmira Vahini also lauded the Army , IAF and other security force personnel including State police, for undertaking the rescue  operations to save thousands of peoples trapped. Kashmira Vahini expressed hope that Government will not lag behind in its duty to reach all affected people in general and Kashmiri Hindus who are trapped and out of reach in Shivpora, Indira Nagar, vessu and Pulwama in particular.
The function concluded with propitiating hymns and lighting of Lamps before the Goddess Vitasta  whom Hindus consider the incarnation of Goddess Sati.
