Software giant Microsoft has set up a laboratory at Dronacharya College of Engineering help the students develop application software and discuss new technological breakthroughs with scientists from Microsoft.

GURGAON: Software giant Microsoft has set up a laboratory at Dronacharya College of Engineering help the students develop application software and discuss new technological breakthroughs with scientists from Microsoft. Out of the 115 such centres worldwide, 30 labs are based in Indian colleges and this is the first one in Haryana.
A student, Kunal Ahuja, said the lab will help him give final touches to his app, ?College Stats', wherein he is compiling the feedback of alumni from 1,400 engineering colleges in this country, thus helping the aspirants choose among colleges.
"Students will be mentored by scientists who will help them develop various applications," said Jitender Kumar, HOD , information technology department at the college.
A third-year engineering student, Anuradha Singh, said, "This will motivate students to work on their dream projects. Most of the time, we have innovative ideas and we know that the ideas are strong but we are not clear about how to proceed further. She further tells TOI that she ? along with a friend, Akanksha ? is working on an app called "Donors' Delight" through which the NGOs can raise funds in cash and in kind from the donors around the world.
