3 charged with interfering with investigation of Falmouth death

Three people have been charged with interfering in a police investigation as the probe continues into the death of a Falmouth man, the Cape & Islands district attorney’s office said today.

Karim Jit Singh, 34; Salinder Singh, 60; and Malkit Thind, 48, of Falmouth are facing charges.

All three were arrested on Friday. Thind posted $100,000 cash bail set by a bail commissioner. But the other two were held without bail over the weekend so a Punjabi interpreter could be available, and Judge Michael C. Creedon set bail at $100,000 cash.

The arrests were made as part of an investigation into the death of Jaswinder Singh, 46, said District Attorney Michael O’Keefe’s office in a stattement. The three defendants and the alleged victim all lived in an apartment on Main Street in Falmouth.

Interfering with a police investigation carries a potential penalty of 10 years in state prison, prosecutors said.

Jaswinder Singh was found dead in the area of 13 Shore St. on Thursday night.

The investigation is ongoing, prosecutors said.
