Rodney Petroff and Egodan found a way to get the job done in today’s United Petroleum 3YO Pace at Yarra Valley.

The Beau Tindale trained Sportswriter/Full Pleasure gelding made it two wins from two starts with a 7.8-metre victory in the 1650-metre event, overcoming a mid-race three-back-the-pegs trail to overpower race favourite Phantom Rockstar in the run to the line.

Egodan, who started $2.50 second pick on the tote today on the back of his first-up win at Cranbourne last month, paced powerfully to the line to record a winning mile rate of 1:59.5.

Egodan was Petroff’s second winner for the afternoon after steering his eight-year-old mare La Stella (Sierra Kosmos/Kerry Moon) home in the Melbourne Cup Day Trotters Handicap over 2150 metres.

La Stella stepped perfectly off 10m to lead before comfortably fending off all challengers to score by 9.5 metres in a rate of 2:06.4, with Seascape Boy second.
