Every motorbike rider in the world needs to understand and promote the idea of incorporating safety in riding. This is the exact motive behind Bike Festival of India's (BFI's) 'National Safety Ride' initiative, which inspires city youth and biking communities to ride responsibly and wear helmets.

The 8100 km 'National Safety Ride' was flagged off by Indian cricketer Ishant Sharma in New Delhi on August 31, 2014. It has already covered a journey across the cities of Delhi, Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vapi, Mumbai and Pune so far. Riders stopped in these cities to visit iconic locations, while interacting with biker communities and encouraged safe driving, especially by wearing helmets.

Thus far, the riders have completed a journey of 1700 kms. After this, they now heads towards Kolhapur, Chitradurga, Bangalore, Ooty, Kochi, Salem and Vellore. Following this, the ride will continue through Chennai, Ongole, Hyderabad, Rajahmundry, Behrampur and Bhadrak, before reaching Kolkata for the final leg. From Kolkata, riders will move towards Dhanbad, Varanasi, Kanpur, Noida, Chandigarh and then terminate the journey back at New Delhi. Covering a mammoth distance of 8170 kms, this will certainly be the longest safety in India. Triumph Motorcycles is the official bike partner of National Safety Ride.

BFI is officially scheduled to take place on 4th and 5th October at Buddh International Circuit (BIC).
