NASHIK: The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has chalked out a multi-crore water supply project for the proposed additional industrial estate coming up at Dindori, about 18 kms from Nashik.
The new additional industrial estate of the MIDC is coming up at Talegaon and Akrale villages in Dindori tehsil by December end this year.
The new industrial estate is proposed on 500 acres of land. The MIDC has already acquired 250 acres and the remaining 250 acres are in final stage of acquisition. Accordingly, the MIDC has started planning for the infrastructure and other facilities like roads, streetlights and water at the industrial estate.
“We have already floated a tender for demarcation survey to prepare the layout. The tender process is expected to be completed in a month. Our priority is to develop the new industrial estate in Dindori at the earliest,” said a senior MIDC official.
The MIDC official said that they have also received reservation of 84 million cubic feet (mcft) water in Palkhed dam, which is 16 kms from the new estate. “The total water supply project is estimated to cost Rs 37 crore,” the official said.
The MIDC is also planning to spend Rs 17 crore on the internal roads, approach roads and streetlights in new industrial estate.
MIDC officials are hoping that the new industrial estate will be ready by December end this year and the plots will be allotted to the industries from January next year.
MIDC CEO Bhushan Gagrani on Thursday held a meeting with the officials from Nashik division and instructed them to speed up the process to create the new additional industrial estates of MIDC at Talegaon-Akrale villages in Dindori at the earliest.
The Satpur and Ambad industrial estates of MIDC are completely occupied and there is no land available for the new industries wanting to set up their base or the existing ones who want to expand their existing facilities.
The industrial associations have been demanding additional industrial areas for the past many years. Due to lack of land, not a single large industry has to come to Nashik in past 10 years.
