Gupta visits Rajouri villages; meets kin of flood victims

RAJOURI, Sept 7: State vice president National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta along with a team of party leaders on Sunday visited Laam village of Nowshera and met the bereaved families of those who died when the bus they were travelling in was washed away in flash floods the other day and expressed condolences.
The other leaders included MLA Nowshera, Rachpal Singh, district president (Organisation) Vipin Pal Shrma, Captain Jaswant Singh Sarpanch, block president Haji Feroz ud Din, block secretary Purshotam Singh and others.
Gupta conveyed the condolences of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to the bereaved families and said the people of the State are with them at this hour of grief.
Gupta and other leaders also visited Naria Chingus and Dangri Kota which have been severely affected by floods. He expressed sympathy with those whose houses and crops have been damaged due to torrential rains.
He sought immediate assessment of the damages caused to property and residential houses so that the sufferers are adequately compensated.
