The traffic police have imposed restrictions on vehicular movement on some routes in the city in view of Ganesh immersion procession on Monday. The main procession route of Ganesh idols beginning from Keshavagiri in old city to NTR Marg and Tank Bund would be closed for general traffic from Monday morning to Tuesday morning.
The main procession starts from Keshavagiri and passes through Nagulchinta, Falaknuma, Charminar, Madina, Afzalgunj, M.J.Market, Abids, Basheerbagh and Liberty before culminating at Upper Tank Bund and NTR Marg.
Similarly, traffic will be stopped or diverted on tributary routes of the procession like Ramanthapur – M J market, Dilsukhnagar – M J Market, Santoshnagar – Chaderghat, Vidyanagar – Liberty, Bahadurpura – Nayapul, Erragadda – Khairtabad and Mehdipatnam – Khairtabad when the procession reaches its peak.
The restrictions apply to RTC city buses also: When the procession is at peak, city buses would not be allowed beyond the points towards Hussainsagar: Masab Tank, V.V. statue, CTO, YMCA-Secunderabad, Tarnaka, Ramanthapur T. V. station, Gaddiannaram, Chaderghat, Mir Alam Tank, and Nalgonda crossroads.
Vehicle parking areas: Institute of Engineers-Khairatabad, MMTS station-Khairatabad, Anandnagar colony to Ranga Reddy district Zilla Parishad office, backside of Budha Bhavan, Goseva Sadan, Katta Maisamma temple, lower Tank Bund road, NTR stadium, Nizam College, Public Garden.
