T P Vishwakarma and
Deepak Khare were elected as president and secretary of
District Bar Association, results for which were declared late on Saturday. TP Vishwakarna garnered 1,219 votes and defeated his nearest rival
Priyanath Pathak by 122 votes. Meanwhile, Deepak Khare got 881 votes and was ahead of his nearest competitor Kirti Gupta by 372 votes.

Laik Khan informed that the counting was carried out till around 8.30 pm.
"On Saturday winners for president, vice-president, secretary, deputy secretary, treasurer and librarian posts were announced. Results for other posts will be announced on Monday," they informed.
For 28 posts up for grabs, 88 candidates were in the fray. Of 4,200 voters, around 2,900 voters had cast their vote on Friday. Counting began on Saturday around 11 am.
Screen was put up at the district court where lawyers gathered in large number. Also, large crowd was outside the premises and they stuck around till results were declared.
Administration had deployed additional security from MP Nagar and other police stations on court premises. CCTV had also been installed on the premises for free and fair polls. Also, five senior advocates were appointed as observers for the polls.
