Nashik teachers felicitated

Mayor Yatin Wagh on Saturday felicitated nine teachers of the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) and private schools for their outstanding work and contribution in the field of education on the occasion of Teacher's Day observed on September 5.

NASHIK: Mayor Yatin Wagh on Saturday felicitated nine teachers of the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) and private schools for their outstanding work and contribution in the field of education on the occasion of Teacher's Day observed on September 5.
"Teachers have an extraordinary place in the life of students as they mould the future citizens of the country," Wagh said while addressing the audience at Gaikwad Sabhagruha during the felicitation programme.tnn
Administrative officer of the NMC's education department Kiran Kuwar said the nine awardees were the Navratnas.

"There are 507 schools in the city including 127 NMC schools. We have selected the teachers according to their outstanding work, unusual experiments in the field of education. We have tried to see that we did justice while selecting the awardees as many teachers are doing excellent work," said Kuwar who also narrated the educational projects undertaken by her department for the students and the teachers.
Apart from the nine teachers, Pushpalata Chowdhary who is working at the NMC's school at Agartakli, was felicitated specially as she has been recently honoured with Savitribai Phule Award, a state-level award for teachers.
Sunita Borse (NMC school No 7), Rekha More (NMC school No 102), Sangita Nikam (NMC school no 102), Vaishali Gajbe (NMC school No 45), Ramesh Bhoye (NMC school No 22), Pradeep Rasalpurkar (NMC school No 4), Malati Karad (New Marathi School), Baburao Thakre (Abhinav Bal Vikas Mandir) and Theres George S H from Sacred Heart Convent School were felicitated.
