Forest dept places cages to trap leopard

In view of increasing terror of leopards, the forest department had decided to place a cage in the area to trap the leopard. Ranger of Barahwa range Rajesh Nigam said that cages had been placed near the spot where a girl was attacked and where her body was recovered.

Leopard attacks continue unabated in villages adjoining Sohelwa Wildlife Sanctuary. On Friday night, a leopard entered a house in Ramwapur village and took away a calf.
Chhotkau, a resident of Gurdaspur village fainted while returning from the field when he saw a leopard near him. He regained consciousness after several hours.
It may be noted that 10 years old Dulari, a resident of Laukikala was attacked and killed by a leopard and her body was recovered from Pahari Nala. Earlier on Monday night, Vishwanath alias Chhotu (13), fell prey to the animal at Darjiniya village. On Tuesday night, the leopard attacked and injured Ramphere Yadav, when he was sleeping in front of his house. The attack have created terror in the villages.
