The actress will soon be seen in Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya, which has Naga Shaurya in the lead role
Sana Makbul to debut in Tollywood
Following in the footsteps of Taapsee Pannu, Rakul Preet and Vanya Mishra, yet another Miss India finalist, Sana Makbul is all set to make her debut in Tollywood with upcoming Telugu film, Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya. Im playing the role of a young girl, Samita, who works as an aerobics trainer. Its a contemporary theme and Im confident that the storyline will catch peoples interest.
I cant reveal much about the story, but my role has got all the shades that one can expect in a commercial entertainer, reveals Sana, who is paired opposite Naga Shaurya in the movie.
The actress confesses that she was keen on acting in a South Indian film first. I love the kind of films being made in Telugu and Tamil. In fact, I did get quite a few offers while I was acting in Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya; however, I couldnt adjust my dates. Now, Im looking forward to see how the audiences react to my performance, Sana says.
Born and brought up in Mumbai, Sana Makbul is no stranger to acting. She has acted in TV serials like Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Arjun before Miss India pageant happened. When I turned 18, I took a break from my TV projects to take part in the Miss India 2012 beauty pageant. Although I wasnt too keen on pursuing a career in modeling, I always wanted to win a beauty pageant and the Miss India contest was a life changing experience. I was one among the top five finalists and looking back, I think Ive come a long way since then, she admits.
Having spent several months, albeit on and off, in Hyderabad, she has slowly begun to take a liking to the city. Initially, it was quite boring since I didnt know anyone in the city. Luckily, my friend, Erica Fernandes was shooting here and she introduced me to quite a few people. As much as I would like to spend more time here,my work poses a big challenge. I didnt want to take any prompting while delivering my dialogues, so most of the time, Im busy learning my lines, Sana confesses.
While her earnestness is understandable, she recalls another incident which posed a big challenge for her. I take my work very seriously and Im doing my best since its my debut film. We had to shoot for a rain sequence at 2O clock in the night and all of a sudden, it got very windy. Youve no idea what its like to get drenched for three nights in a row! she laughs.
