BHOPAL: Justice Shravan Shankar Jha Commission submitted its fifth report before Madhya Pradesh high court (MPHC) on Friday highlighting a large-scale corruption in rehabilitation of thousands of Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP) affected families.
Responding to a PIL filed by Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA), the high court had constituted the commission by its order on August 21, 2008 to look into allegations of fake land registries (in purchase of alternative land in rehabilitation) through SRP and corruption in provision of civic amenities at 80 R&R sites for SSP project affected families (PAFs) in the state.

MPHC had earlier amended its initial interim 2008 widening terms of Inquiry of Justice Jha Commisison to cover all other aspects of corruption, irregularities, illegalities raised by petitioners, including fraudulent payment of compensation to the ineligible/fake persons and properties, Irregularities and corruption in house plot allotments, Corruption in payment of livelihood grants to the landless oustees with fake claims of purchase of productive assets.
