Stunning fashions - but Louis Walsh is the one turning heads
Delectable, desirable designer dresses from Erdem and Chloe, Valentino and Victoria Beckham were almost upstaged yesterday by a Mayo man dressed in a simple cardi and jeans.
Louis Walsh has never claimed to be a fashionista, but at the ISPCC Childline lunch at Dublin's Four Seasons Hotel yesterday he couldn't go anywhere without being 'papped' by some of the 350 well-dressed ladies at the fundraiser. Throughout the 16-minute Brown Thomas fashion show, which featured the retailer's top autumn/winter 2014 designer looks, many ladies in the audience took snaps on their smartphones.
The X Factor judge put on his friendly face at the lunch which he attended with his best friend, Caroline Downey. Privately, however, Louis said he was very upset at the death of comedian Joan Rivers.
"I knew Joan well and I've just been speaking with Sharon Osbourne and her daughter Kelly and they are upset. Joan had Kelly on her 'Fashion Police' show and she loved her," said Louis. During the lunch he sat with actress Saoirse Ronan, who flew in from London.
Saoirse said: "I'm not doing anything at the moment. I finished 'Brooklyn' a couple of months ago. It was amazing and it was probably the toughest job I've ever done because it was set in Ireland, because it's about an Irish girl, because it was the journey that my parents went through and that I'm kind of going through right now."
