As many as 15 lakh bogus white ration cards have been surrendered across Andhra Pradesh after the government started seeding them with Aadhaar cards, Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha said here on Friday.

Speaking to the media, the Minister said that another five lakh bogus cards were expected to be surrendered as the officials had estimated them to be around 20 lakh bogus cards. She said the district Collectors have been asked to complete Aadhaar seeding by September 10.

“We’ll get the correct figure after that”, she added, while pointing out that there were more ration cards than the number of families in the State.
