The Rice Bucket Challenge, an Indian version of ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, got more refined and local on Friday with Hyderabad Biryani replacing plain white rice. As part of a programme organised by Taj Falaknuma Palace in association with Sapna Iktara Foundation, 500 portions of the Hyderabad biryani was distributed to the underprivileged on the city streets. Those who lent support to the cause included filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, general manager of Taj Falaknuma Palace Girish Sehgal and chief executive of Iktara World Shiraz Gidwani. Hyderabad-based journalist Manju Latha Kalanidhi, who conceptualised the initiative, was also present.
