A huge procession with a traditional Rajasthani Kachhi Ghodi — a man dancing with a dummy horse — and a troupe of Maharashtrian women playing dhols danced in front of the beautifully decorated Ganpati rath.
Over a lakh of locals gathered on the sidewalks and building terraces to see the caravan, and many joined in the celebrations too, dancing to popular Ganpati numbers.
With constant chants of ‘Ganpati Bappa morya, pudhchya varshi laukar ya’, the revellers ensured that Bappa received a royal send-off.
