A lunching feast

Executive Chef Sudhir Pai of Saptami, Holiday Inn’s multi-cuisine restaurant, will be serving a special Onam Sadya menu. Available during lunch hours till September 7, the buffet will include a mix of traditional vegetarian dishes such as Avial; Erissery, a dish made using pumpkin and raw banana; Pineapple pachadi; and daal vada, among others. The brunch is priced at Rs 599 on September 5 and 6 and Rs 999 on September 7. Time: 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm. Venue: Saptami, Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport, Andheri (East). Heavy veg spread

South of Vindhyas at The Orchid will lay out a special buffet. Chef Bala has created a menu that includes Pachadi (yoghurt-based side dish) made using different vegetables and Olan, a dish made using sliced cucumber and brinjal. The desserts include Pal Payasam, Parippu Payasam and rice halwa. The buffet is priced at Rs 1,475 plus taxes. Date: September 6. Time: Lunch (12.30 pm to 3.30 pm) and Dinner (8 pm to 11.30 pm). As part of The Secret Ingredient — a series of regional pop-up meals by home chefs — Poppaddum by Sneha Nair and Small Fry Co are organising a traditional Onam Sadya on Sunday. The menu includes Pineapple pachadi; Avial; Kaalan; Cabbage thoran; Inghzipulli; and staples like sambar and rasam. You can even opt for non-vegetarian add-ons such as Chicken fry Kerala style and Malabar mutton curry. The vegetarian fare is priced at Rs 1,200 and Rs 1,500 for a non-vegetarian meal. Eat for a cause

The spread at Dakshin Culture Curry, the Mahim-based restaurant includes dishes such as banana theeyal, appam, neer dosa, kadala curry, and lemon rice, among other traditional dishes. Priced at Rs 495, the special thali will be available on Sunday, September 7. The restaurant is also planning to donate a part of the proceeds to Muktangan Charitable Institute.
