Firing on Fatta lookalike: Babloo Srivastava brought to Surat

SURAT: Underworld don Babloo Srivastava was brought to the city on transfer warrant from Bareily jail in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.
Srivastava is named in the complaint of firing on Amjad Dalal, a lookalike of Afroz Fatta, the main accused in the Rs 5,000 crore hawala racket.
"He was produced in court and sent to Lajpor Central Jail (LCJ). We will seek his custody later," said Antrip Sood, deputy commissioner of police, crime branch.
"Babloo's name had cropped up during the investigation of the firing case and his questioning will reveal many important details," added Sood.
Dalal was shot by the attackers on March 28 hen he was at a paan shop in Adajan Patiya. Dalal suffered a bullet injury on right side of his stomach but survived.
Locals informed the police that before shooting at Dalal, the miscreants had called him out as Afroz. They asked him his name twice before shooting. Police investigation revealed that it was a case of mistaken identity.
So far, police have arrested Roshan Marvadi alias Chawla, Suresh Bansal, Sanjay Tiwari and Vishveshwar Tiwari alias Montu. Sanjay is Montu's brother-in-law of Tiwari, who played a key role in the firing incident. He was an important person of Babloo gang and reported to the don directly. Montu hired shooter, Afzal and sent him to Surat for firing, police said.
Police first traced Marvadi and Basal after which the entire case was detected. Police investigation revealed that Babloo carried out entire operation through Montu while sitting in Bareily Jail. Marvadi met Babloo through another underworld operative Faszlu Rehman in past and maintained the contact. Marvadi personally met Babloo in recent past in Delhi when Babloo was brought for a court case hearing.
