Mazen Sabri of Egypt and Great Britain’s Camilla Tomlinson clinched the men’s and women’s titles with convincing wins in the World University squash championships at the Indian Squash Academy courts here on Thursday.

In an all-Egyptian final, Mazen proved superior in all departments of the game, as he scored an 11-8, 11-9, 11-6 win over Zahed Mohammed. “I am familiar with Zahed’s game and that helped,” said Mazen.

Camilla didn’t encounter too many problems during her 11-8, 11-6, 11-1 victory over top-seeded Olga Ertlova of the Czech Republic.

“This is one of my biggest wins. This is a world-level title and I am really happy,” said the Briton.

The results: Men (final): Mazen Sabri (Egy) bt Zahed Mohammed (Egy) 11-8, 11-9, 11-6.

Third place: Eddie Charlton (GBr) bt Saqib Yousaf (Pak) 7-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-8.

Women (final): Camilla Tomlinson (GBr) bt Olga Ertlova (Cze) 11-8, 11-6, 11-1.

Third place: Farah Abdel Megid (Egy) bt Alexandra Fuller (RSA) 16-14, 10-12, 12-10, 11-7.
