Film-maker Anurag Basu is a busy man. He is not just working on Jagga Jasoos with Ranbir Kapoor, the second schedule of which would go on floors by the month end, but also completing the final draft of his biopic on Kishore Kumar.
“There’s a lot of work that is keeping me busy. The second schedule of Jagga Jasoos would go on floors soon in Mumbai,” says the film-maker while shooting for Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj. He will also be seen in a cameo in R. Balki’s Shamitabh. “But let the details of it be revealed by Balki, as he is the director,” he quips trying to dodge the questions on his acting stint.
However, he eagerly talks about the biopic on Kishore Kumar. Basu has been working on the screenplay of the film since sometime now. However, Ranbir, who would also be playing Kumar’s role in the film, had said in a recent interview that several permissions from his family are required before going ahead with the script.
Tell this to Basu and he remarks, “Amit Kumar, Kishore da’s son, is working with me on the screenplay. But a lot of drafting and re-drafting is happening and every time we make changes, we send it to his family for approval. That is taking a lot of time. But we have to pay attention to minute details to script the life of a person who has had such a colourful life.”
The film-maker concludes by saying that currently his priority is Jagga Jasoos, and thus he is paying more attention to its pre-production work.
