MANGALORE: Mavalli in Bhatkal taluk of Uttara Kannada district recorded maximum rainfall of 105mm in Karnataka in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on September 4. Kundapur hobli in Udupi taluk of Udupi district recorded maximum temperature of 33.7°C on September 3 at 1.15pm. Bidar South hobli in Bidar taluk of Bidar district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 16.5°C on September 4 at 4.15am.
Both maximum and minimum temperature changed little over the state. More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 45% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 0% geographical area in the state.
Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 24% of hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall of =2.5mm. Heavy rain was recorded in three gram panchayats, rather heavy rain in 21 GPs; moderate rain in 97 GPs, light rain in 218 GPs, very light rain in 507 GPs each; and no rain in remaining 1100 GPs.
Karnataka for the period from August 28 to September 4 recorded surplus rainfall of 102%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 32mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 65mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on September 4, four geographical regions received 5.4mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 4.3mm, a 26% surplus departure from normal.
