INDA starts tracking nonwovens supply in North America; annual report to show shifting patterns of growth

CLOVERDALE, CA, September 3, 2014-

INDA is launching the first in what will be an annual series of reports on North American industry nonwovens capacity, production and operating rates, it announced on August 27. Among the insights contained in the first edition are facts about historical growth rates for the industry as a whole as well as for key nonwovens production categories.

In 2013 INDA estimated that there were around 135 nonwovens producers in the US, Canada and Mexico, operating nearly 500 individual production lines. By contrast, in 2000 there were 325 producers with 600 to 650 lines, although the average line size was much smaller.
