St Thomas alumni feted for feat in sports

BHOPAL: Pradeep Singh Keer and Ashiv Jain, former students of St Thomas Convent Senior Secondary School, were felicitated for their achievement in sports. Keer from Hazrat Nizamuddin Football Club, Bhopal, is representing India for Bayer Lever Kusen (Germany) & Queens Park Ranger (England), besides being selected as one of the team members for upcoming Asia Cup Football Tournament.
Jain from IMG Academy in Florida, will represent India in 2015 basketball championship in USA. Principal Fr Thomas Malancharuvil congratulated them for their achievement at a function organized on National Sports Day.
War of words: Kartik Pandey of Sharda Vidya Mandir, Kartik Dwivedi of Bal Bharti Public School and Nidhi Soni of Sharda Vidya Mandir were winners of inter-school debate competition, jointly organized by Bhopal chapter of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and New Delhi. The topic of the debate was smartphones. President Bhopal ICAI Nitin Paresh, secretary Vinita Mathur and others were present. As many as 18 schools participated in the competition judged by Shomi Gupta, Mitali Chatterjee and Madhulika Chandra.
Sportstars of St Joseph feted: Eight students of St Joseph's Co-ed School were felicitated by state government on National Sports Day for bagging medals in skating and rope skipping. Divyansh Kumar, Ayush Guha, Shikha Nair, Ashita Khandelwal, Abhijit Muley, Vaidika Verma and Nimisha Menon were among the students awarded scholarships of Rs 5,000 - Rs 30,000. School principal Fr Varghese, staff and management congratulated students on their achievement.
Tiny-tots of Sprouts shine at 'Tiranga': To nurture talent of students, an inter-school cultural fest ?Tiranga' was organized at Asnani School recently where more than six schools participated. Little Sproutians participated in jigsaw puzzle competition winners of which were Uddish Sharma ( jigsaw puzzle), Parasme Diwan (colouring), Aakash Hajela (jigsaw puzzle) Nandini Audichya (jigsaw puzzle) and Agrima Bhadoriya (colouring). Centre head Supriya Singh congratulated kids on their achievement.
